Money Tree Anyone?

I am pretty sure that the head teacher at the kid's school thinks that we all have money trees in our back gardens. We signed up Jackson for a ski trip to Switzerland. Not something we can really afford but seriously - what an opportunity so we budgeted the money. We payed the deposit and then 2 weeks ago we got a letter saying the remainder was due in 3 days. Um, we have to come up with HOW much in 3 days? That's not really allowing for our budget. Then Friday we get another letter about an outdoor education center trip in June and they would like the 350pounds for that by this coming Friday. Yep, I have an extra $700 just laying around for outdoor school. We just told the boy that he wasn't going. It's either that or we're living in a card board box when we move back to Arizona - fine in the winter time but they don't usually come with A/C for the summer.

Well, I bet you can save by not getting the card board box & living in one of those insane big cacti. You could even get a Swiss Army Knife from this upcoming trip & cut into said cactus for water. Talk about saving on the utilities. Yes. School always thinks you are made of money. ALWAYs.

What? You don't have a money tree? For shame...

Sigh.

Rather steep sums indeed.

Marissa's doing the Philedelphia,D.C., New York Trip in April, and it is a small fortune. With only two deadlines, a month apart. Where do they expect us to get all this money??

LOL! Maybe we can be card board box neighbors!!

Oh, and there is an outdoor camp this year too. Thank God she allready went to one in 6th grade.

When you find the money tree, could you let me know how to grow one!!

i think w all the school activities and extracurricular we should sell this house and live in said cardboard box. cheer alone cost over 800 plus now i have to fork out an additional 100 for school cheer, then there's football, pictures, fieldtrips, etc. the list goes on and on and on.

that's one thing bout private school...they always think ya got a poopload of money coming outta your backside.

I guess I'll stop complaining about having to pay $5 for the bus every time my kids go on a field trip!

Sounds like I've got it good.

Ciara, it aint just private schools my lad is at a bog standard normal school lol my Jacob got the letter about the Ski Trip to Italy end Oct last year - and the trip was in January, the trip was also $1200.. the deposit in by crimbo... then the rest in 2 weeks later LOL.... but what can one do...... I had given all 3 of his brothers the opportunity when they were at the school and it was only fair that Jacob had the same chance...... thats when its hard being a single parent with an X that dont give a penny to the raising of kids let alone a penny towards other things that nippers cost.......

ps...... Jacob found he was an amazing skier, and we dont have snow here, and that was with only 2 trips via the school to the dry ski slopes.... and yes, I had to pay over $60 for those to LOL....

life aye... pulling the lid of me cardboard box over me head to keep out the rain lol
