This has been the topic of much discussion at our house lately. A couple kids at church told Jordan there is no Santa. Plus there are so many movies, television shows that talk about believing or not that I'm sure the kids have it on their minds a lot. In our home we believe. If you want to receive you have got to believe. In one discussion Jared was rationalizing how there MUST be a Santa. If all of the parents stayed up that late to put presents under the tree AND they had to eat all the cookies and milk they would be really tired in the morning for Christmas and they wouldn't be hungry for breakfast either. Sounds good to me. Of course I'm wondering why he isn't thinking there is no way Santa could eat all those cookies - but then again Santa's the one with the belly like a bowl full of jelly.
-Sorry I've been absent lately from the blog world. Balancing working, kids, church and the loss of internet for 3 days I've been hard pressed to make an appearance in here.

Nice to see you! Her logic is cute. We had the believe to receive rule when I was growing up too.
My Jordan has been asking questions, which today were about Rudolph. He believes in Santa, but doesn't think reindeer are real for some reason, and he's worried about Christmas Eve being too foggy for Santa to find us.
it's a fun age - that "in between" believing and not believing. :)
We're believers and have the believers rules as well. I totally believe in the spirit of Santa!

I love believing :) I still believe in the big man... Merry Christmas.
I was thinking about this the other day...how is it really possible to believe with all the big wide world out there telling you there is no Santa? I think it would take a conscious act to believe, and you'd have to repress the knowledge of the truth in order to believe it. Our youngest WANTS to believe. She kinda half way does and half way doesn't. She wants the presents to be under the tree NOW, before Christmas, but she wants to think Santa brings them Christmas Eve night. It's hard to enforce belief when you have a 14 year old living in the house, though! :-(
