It's just the tot and me.

My mother inlaw came to visit one day and insisted we WAIT for the hubby to come home. I told her, "Why? All the pots and pans and plates are not with him." She just stared at me in disbelief. I mean how could I starve my daughter (and most importantly, myself hee hee) just to have dinner together?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6368919919776015255.post-2537125579748239172007-11-02T17:15:00.000-07:002007-11-02T17:15:00.000-07:00We rarely eat at the same time either. Jon works nights so it doesn't really work but somedays I wish we were the kind of family that sits around the table and talks about our day between bites, but we're not. We spend weird karaoke-at-1-a.m. time that most families don't to make up for it I guess.

By the way, I have the best ever, easiest Chili recipe that even my kids will eat if you ever have a hankering. It seriously tastes like you slaved all day and takes about ten minutes.Cecily Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01833641996572085518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6368919919776015255.post-70288053277860852762007-11-02T14:12:00.000-07:002007-11-02T14:12:00.000-07:00Ooooooooh, Chili dogs. I didn't either for a long time, and I really only like the ALL beef ones.

Growing up, my dad was always there for dinner, but my mom didn't work.
In our family, when I was working, I'd eat with the kids, and my husband came home from his job, and then I went to mine.
Now, I cook and call him to either come home for dinner (if he's doing something for his business), or if he's working on a woodproject for someone, he'll come when he can stop and come in which could be hours later. So we do have a meal together every once in awhile, but not as often as I'd like.

Have a great weekend!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6368919919776015255.post-18359509540364170582007-11-02T12:15:00.000-07:002007-11-02T12:15:00.000-07:00We try to eat together as much as possible, but si...We try to eat together as much as possible, but since my DH travels, there are usually a couple nights a week when we can't. On those nights, we eat fun, easy "kid oriented" foods like mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, peanut butter & jelly.... When daddy is home, I try out new recipes more adult oriented meals. It works well, the kids get to have their favorites that daddy doesn't care for and I have easy cooking nights when DH isn't home. When he is, the kids learn to eat regular grown up meals too.Jennifer @ Fruit of My Handshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11479983078312955832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6368919919776015255.post-4819266739469465622007-11-02T12:09:00.000-07:002007-11-02T12:09:00.000-07:00You sound over scheduled?
